CHAIRFIX
Project DetailsChairfix.
Inspired by Airfix models – Chairfix came out of the desire to create an object that the end user could have involvement in making themselves.
Three chairs are CNC routered from a single 8 x 4′ panel, and 126 x flat pack units of Chairfix will stack on a standard Euro pallet.
The excess wood forms it’s own packaging, and Chairfix is easily assembled in minutes by the end user.
To launch the product 10 artists were asked to customize the chairs in their flat-pack state.
The chairs were then exhibited in the experimental gallery at the Aram Store London.
The exhibition then moved to Tokyo.
Over the years there have been many limitd editions, and different versions have been produced for the likes of Stussy, illustrator Pete Fowler, Comme des Garcons x Taro Okamoto, Eley Kishimoto, Alphabeta etc.
A family of products using the same idea and technology was also developed for Heals and Son of London.
Available to buy as plain units, or please enquire for customised versions.
Collaborations and production possible.
